Library for plants
Library for plants is a design object for garden, with Republic of Architects
Library for plants is a design object for garden created by Oana Iacob in 2013, while at Republic of Architects.
The object is made of multilayer plywood boards with noble beech veneer, with an adhesive composition suitable for outdoor placement. The thickness of the boards varies depending on the total length desired for structural efficiency and production costs. The drilling and milling are done at CNC and are coordinated with the type of the flower pot. The drilling allows the plants to come out through the upper plate, and the milling ensures the stability of the pot's position on the lower plate. The hole for the plant has a milled area at the bottom of the plate intended for the same requirement for positioning the pot. The pots are compact containers that have a decorative and structural role. Various types of containers can be used, different from one level of the library to another, depending on the user's taste. The object offers flexibility depending on the dimensions desired by the client and the type of container chosen by him. The structural simplicity makes the transport compact for plates and containers. Execution: EKERO Concept Materials: Holver, IKEA Realization: 2013
